For Sale: 1979 MG MGB in St Louis, Missouri for sale in Saint Louis, MO

1 of 50
Vehicle Description The last iteration of the MG B with significant changes arrived in 1977.
The dashboard was given a modern facelift with more efficient controls for the lamps and climate controls.
The pedal assembly was positioned such that proper heel-and-to operation could be easily achieved while the steering gear ratio was improved.
These improvements made the MGB much more pleasant to drive, however models from just a few years before had to compensate for new U.
S.
mandated regulations such as emissions standards and bumper height restrictions.
British-Leyland controlled MG knew the car would not be sellable in the U.
S.
(it's leading market) in just a few years.
The late B's, while lacking in appeal for many, are some of the best driving sports cars of their era.
This 1979 MG B is finished in Carmine red over a Beige interior and black folding convertible top.
An extremely well-sorted example, IT'S ALIVE! is representing this MG B on behalf of one of our best customers.
The owner, a retired judge, entrusted the team at IT'S ALIVE! to maintain his prized MGB since 2020.
Under our care the MG was treated to new silicone engine gaskets and a new convertible top with a zip out rear window in the spring of 2022.
Today the MG B presents a high level of originality that includes lacquer paint and original interior trim.
The mileage on the odometer (44,000) is believed to represent the total milage accrued since leaving the factory.
Several upgrades have been performed to improve reliability including a WEBER downdraft carburetor as well as a PerTronix electronic ignition.
Complimenting the mechanical upgrades are a wood rimmed steering wheel by PERSONAL in addition to an AUDIOVOX AM/FM Stereo.
This stylish MG B is sure to bring many miles of smiles to its next caretaker.
