Vehicle Description Chevrolet was continuing a very successful Corvette model in 1958 with only a few changes to the car which included new fiberglass body panels that now included dual front headlights and integrated hood ridges.
The trunk received chrome accent spears while the front grill lost 4 teeth now totaling only 9, with bumpers that were now stronger being bolted directly to the chassis.
Inside, the gauges were rearranged with a new 160mph speedometer and centered tachometer, a passenger grab bar was built into the dash, along with two-piece door panels and standard seat belts! This gorgeous 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is finished in Signet Red accented by Snowcrest White coves and Red Vinyl interior.
Optioned include factory, date-code correct Rochester fuel-injected 283ci V8-290hp engine, upgraded Warner 4-speed transmission along with highway friendly 3.

3758932 Rochester Injection- 7014900R- Unit #4843 Heads- X58 Only 9,168 Corvettes were produced in 1958, of which just 1,007 were 290hp fuel-injected equipped units with a manual transmission, making them highly prized collectibles! This February 1958 production example was cosmetically restored between 2012-2016 while in the care of its former owner of 16 years.
It continues to appear exceptionally fresh in person! The paint finish is superb on a no-hit body that possesses excellent fit and body gaps.
Matching in quality are excellent chrome & stainless pieces, period correct Coker Classic whitewall tires, along with a detailed engine with correct hoses, pinch clamps, fresh air ducting, 7-ribbed aluminum Corvette valve covers, heater core & gaskets, etc.
It appears it's never had the body removed from the chassis since it was born in June 1958 and continues to show wonderfully from underneath.
Most recently from a Quebec, Canada collection since approximately 2007, it been shown in a large private collection driven infrequently these last several years.
Upon arrival in October 2023, the St.
Louis Car Museum elected to replace all four shocks & mounting hardware; rebuilt the front suspension with new control arm shafts, front stabilizer links, and rear rebound straps; repacked the front wheel bearings & lubricated all suspension points; performed an alignment; installed new brake hoses & hardlines to rear along with complete fluid flush; transmission mount bushing; new pinion shaft seal, u-joint, & fresh axle gear oil; new fuel sending unit & filter; and engine oil/filter change.
It starts and drives with perfect ease! The engine response never falters; it travels effortlessly down the road and keeps pace with everyday traffic making this a perfect summertime cruiser! A terrific fuel-injected Corvette investment! The radio and dash clock are presently inoperable.
A spare tire is present within the trunk compartment as well as carpeted front floor mats.
Although somewhat biased, we feel there is no other color combination to have in our opinion! Truly gorgeous! Included with the sale are restoration photos, past service records dating back to 2007, and Canadian appraisal competed in 2015 as the car was nearing restoration completion.
