Vehicle Description IT'S ALIVE! AUTOMOTIVE is proud to present this 1974 Triumph TR6 Roadster finished in the original color combination of Pimiento Red over a Chestnut interior and a Black convertible top.
Per the accompanying British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, this TR6 was completed at the Coventry factory on July 8th 1974 and was originally dispatched to British Leyland Motors of New Orleans.
IT'S ALIVE! is representing this TR6 on behalf of its long term owners of nearly 40 years! Accompanying records document the car all the way back to February 1981 when the first owner sold the TR6 with a mere 11,211 miles on the odometer.
From there the TR6 was traded between several dealers eventually winding up in the personal collection of a well known dealership owner in Quincy, Illinois.
In march of 1984 the Triumph was sold to Concours Auto Sales (Ellis Imports) of St.
Louis.
A month later the TR6 was acquired by its third registered owner with a noted 11,931 miles on the odometer.
After putting less than 3200 miles on the TR6 in just 16 months of ownership, the TR6 was acquired by its current owners in September 1985.
The incredibly meticulous couple report that the Triumph was never driven on wet or during winter road conditions under their care.
A minor amount of restoration work began in the summer of 1990 when a new Robbins convertible top was fitted while a complete respray of the TR6 in the correct shade of Pimento Red was performed in September 1990.
Some minor interior work was performed in 1994 including new carpet.
Today the TR6 presents in above driver quality condition displaying many original components and a mere 29,000 miles on the odometer.
An excellent assortment of documentation accompanies the TR6 including the original owner's manual, service records, numerous odometer statements, previous bills of sale and the British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate.
The latter of which verify the engine, body and commission numbers presented are all numbers matching to when the car was first dispatched in August 1974.
The paintwork exhibits only minor wear that one would expect from a respray that is 33 years old, while the brightwork appears as original and the engine comparted appears as untouched! Jeff Homsher, owner of IT'S ALIVE, was amazed by how well the TR6 runs and drives; just as one would expect from a low milage and well maintained example.
We are extremely privileged to represent this low milage TR6.
