Vehicle Description History About The Mercury Cougar:
The Cougar was brought to the market in 1967 as an upscaled twin to the Ford Mustang, and the XR-7 package pushed the luxury and muscle combo a step further.
It has a unique horizontal taillight design with sequential turn signals, as well as hidden quad headlamps and extra chrome trim.
Mercury aimed for a more refined market with its beautiful trim and standard equipment, while remaining true to its performance roots by only offering V8 engines for its Cougar series, resulting in a car that was the best of both worlds.
In 1970, the first generation of Cougars ended on a high note, with the final models receiving a new front bumper, fenders, and nose.
