Believe it or not, it?s a Lotus ?clat Type 76 Series I, based off of its famous ?lite model.
This survivor example underwent an older, windows-out, frame-off body shell restoration.
It is a survivor car, one of 540 exported in 1977 and one of about 1,500 produced altogether.
This late 70s survivor was assembled in July 1977 in Hethel, Norfolk, England with the 522 Option Pack ? alloy wheels with wider tires, five-speed manual transmission, air-conditioning and tinted windows, among other options.
It was signed from production on August 11, 1977 and sold from the Lotus West distributor in California on August 18, 1977.
During its restoration, this example was repainted in Lotus? Laser Blue.
The paint is in overall very good order but some runs and possibly orange peel are evident on the passenger side of the hatch, just below the rear window.
The original chrome trim has been covered or replaced with carbon fiber strips.
A NOS Triplex windshield was installed in 2016 and the side glass was resealed.
The vacuum-operated pop-up headlights have been refurbished, too.
The engine bay is very tidy and the bumpers fit tightly to the body.
This Lotus rolls on Nitto NT01 radials, size 205/55R14 at all four corners.
Each tire is mounted to an original GKN alloy wheel.
The wheels look great while the tires are in good, original shape.
Under the front-hinged hood is the car?s original Lotus? 907 engine, a 2.

A floor-mounted shift lever, center-mounted emergency brake and a JVC AM/FM stereo with cassette deck complete the interior.
The Lotus ?clat is a sports car built from 1975 to 1982 by British automobile manufacturer Lotus Cars.
It was based on the ?lite but had a fastback body style which offered more practicality with storage in the boot (trunk), albeit with less headroom above the rear seats.
The car was initially to be called the lite Coupe.
? The lower half of the fiberglass bodywork was actually identical to that of the ?lite.
Competition to this ?clat in 1977 included Chevrolet?s Camaro, Datsun?s 280Z and Pontiac?s Firebird.
