Vehicle Description After World War II, automotive manufacturing surged and distinctive new designs were coming from all manufacturing houses around the United States.
Cadillac returned with a sharp, streamlined body utilizing the same faithful 346ci V8 power plants of before, only now producing an additional 10 extra horsepower.
This gain of power was nicely matched to a slightly shorter chassis measuring a wheelbase of 136.
The Fleetwood 75 Series continued as its largest, most luxurious offering through 1948.
We are very excited to offer this 1947 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 7523 seven-passenger Sedan finished in factory, code correct 3-Cavern Green over 95-Gray Vogue broadcloth interior! Powered by its original 346ci L-head V8 engine mated to a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission producing a stout 150 horsepower and 274 ft.
lbs.
of torque! Options include original full wheel discs, whitewall tires, AM radio with fender mounted antenna, front & rear speakers, power windows, power front seat, rear auxiliary jump seats, tinted Day/Night rearview mirror, rear trunk compartment light, stainless steel running boards; rear reading lamps, floor footrest, assist handles, storage compartments, & partition clock; front & rear bumper guards, front fog lights and rear reverse lamp.
This example was ordered new through Eierman Cadillac Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where it sold new from their Motor Square Garden facility.
It represents body #758 of the 890 produced, shipping from the Detroit factory on November 17th, 1947.
Today, the odometer on our vehicle shows just 53,702 miles which is believed to be actual, but we do not have enough supporting evidence to make a true mileage claim.
This body showcases much of its beautifully preserved original paint with hints only from a paint meter to indicate some possible paint correction on a couple of the fenders.
Two very small windshield chips on the driver's side are present but continue to support that all the original glass remains present.
The interior remains unquestionably original with all factory upholstery and wood trim intact, and truly gorgeous in every respect! It retains the appearance of an honest, extremely well cared for original vehicle that has been judged and honored in the Spokane, Washington Cadillac/LaSalle Club in the preservation/survivor class division! Being unrestored, some paint touch ups are noted around the rear hood and door edges, but the overall paint and chrome show very good.
It continues to run and drive very well having been recently tuned and receiving all new engine oil/filter and coolant in June 2021 along with new fan belt, lubrication of the suspension, topping off differential gear oil, and ensuring all safety items are functional.
All power features are fully functional including the seat, windows, blower motor, etc.
This car qualifies as a Full Classic as recognized by the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) and represents one of only 890 Fleetwood 7-passenger Sedans produced in the 1947.
A truly unique opportunity to own a piece of Cadillac history! We would invite questions and the opportunity to see this vehicle in person.
