Sales & Use Tax Analyst

Role Value Proposition:

We are looking for a full-time Tax Analyst to join our Sales & Use tax department to assist with monthly sales/use tax compliance activities including invoice review, performance of sales tax reviews, assisting with sales/use tax audits and timely and complete filing of monthly returns.

Key
Responsibilities:

  • Completion of Sales & Use Tax Returns for 3 entities
  • Completion of the New York City Commercial Rent Tax Return
  • Maintenance of Vertex Series O software system
  • Researching and responding to inquiries from internal customers and taxing authorities
  • Performance of sales tax reviews
  • Assisting with state and local sales/use tax audits
  • Completion of account certifications

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Ability to work independently and organize multiple work responsibilities to meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact well with all staff levels, internal customers and tax authorities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
  • Self-starter with good organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others to accomplish team goals

Preferred:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or 3-5 years of work experience in sales/use tax accounting
  • Experience with Vertex Series O and Vertex Returns software
  • Experience with Alteryx or Power BI a plus
