POLICE OFFICER (COMBAT ARMS) (TITLE 5)

GENERAL
Experience:
Must possess qualifying general experience that includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws. GS-08 SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates your ability to conduct formal combat arms training and maintenance activities for the Security Forces function; control and operate firing ranges; inspect, repair, and maintain ground weapons; enforce law, maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of the organization. The specialized experience must also demonstrate you possess knowledge of security and security forces requirements, procedures, and tactics to support installation physical security; firearms and tactics for employing them in emergency situations; principles and techniques of instruction used in combat arms weapons training and firing range instruction; and combat arms facilities management, including maintenance, classrooms, firing range structures, munitions buildings, and weapon vaults. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. LAUTENBERG AGREEMENT:
These positions authorize the incumbents to carry a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition (Title 18, U.S.C., Section 922(g) (91)). Candidates who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not qualified for these positions. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense. False or fraudulent information provided by candidates is criminally punishable by fine or imprisonment (Title 18, U.S.C., Section 1001). INVESTIGATION OF FITNESS:
A character investigation will be conducted on applicants selected for employment. The purpose of such an investigation is to secure evidence of the candidate's honesty, integrity, general character, and loyalty to the U.S. Government. Such investigations will be conducted under the security requirements of the hiring agency. MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The duties of these positions require moderate to arduous physical exertion and/or duties of a hazardous nature. The following medical requirements apply to all applicants:
good near and distant vision, ability to distinguish basic colors, and ability to hear the conversational voice. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
