Product Specialist - E
The Product Specialist is responsible for specific applications and support. Must have solid understanding of current Laboratory clinical workflows and processes. Assists project management team in the design and implementation of the Laboratory application module. Provides support to application level problems and questions after system go-live, while being able to identify the root cause of issues by identifying, implementing, or recommending improvement programs. Must have excellent communication and coordination skills, and should be able to communicate easily with other health care professionals to help facilitate change management and process redesign.
_PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:_
Learning and becoming the product expert for the Epic Beaker application(s).
A thorough understanding of Laboratory processes in clinics, hospitals, and hospital outpatient departments.
Required to gain in-depth application knowledge and have good communication skills to facilitate the coordination of the various applications that integrate with the Laboratory modules including Cadence, Prelude/ADT, OpTime, Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, Radiant, EpicCare Inpatient, Epicare Ambulatory, and MyChart.
Prioritizing and implementing changes requested for the system.
Participates in implementing release upgrades. Coordinates test plans related to release upgrades, thoroughly reviewing and testing each new release and communicating needed changes.
Manages assigned projects by assuring that they are on time and within budget. Implements plans and attains outlined goals, prepares activity reports and other reports, as necessary.
Develops and executes project work plans.
Coordinates application enhancements by identifying needs, analyzing benefits, identifying process changes and impact of enhancements. Communicates requirements to application vendor or internal development staff as appropriate.
Communicates application enhancement progress to Network Group and end users as appropriate.
Performs quality assurance review of application and its use. Recommends and/or implements changes as indicated.
Researches, analyzes and facilitates implements of business process flow in order to expedite process improvement and coordinate business practices. Identifies areas of common practice and implements opportunities for standardization.
Communicates outstanding issues and status updates through appropriate channels, escalating unresolved issues when necessary.
Coordinates support requirements with Customer Response Center.
Works with Network Groups to facilitate maximum & optimal use of Financial and Clinical Applications.
## Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field required (information technology, health care, or general business) with five to seven years' experience.
Certified Medical Technologist CMT MT MLS
Beaker Lab Certification a plus
