What You'll Do :
The Senior Vendor Manager will build and maintain vendor relationships to provide high quality, cost effective external services. You will educate and support hiring leaders on the operating models for our vendors, as well as assist in the execution of contracts, payment processes, issue escalation with vendors, and general communication.
The role will be the central point of contact for Edward Jones with their assigned vendors and manage the ongoing relationship. Internally, you will partner with Legal, Sourcing, HR, PMO, and Finance to align on budget, contract terms, and more. The Senior Vendor Manager will hold the vendor(s) accountable to performance metrics, adhering to our best practices and policies.
Here are a few of the key responsibilities you will be a part of :
  • Build and maintain effective relationships and is primary POC for assigned Strategic vendors requiring strong communication and facilitation strategies. Mentors team members and others outside the team on vendor processes.
  • Lead definition of vendor governance structures and processes as well as the implementation across the area. Make strategic recommendations regarding vendor performance metrics.
  • Develop effective statement of work documents which may include research, defining, and communicating standards and templates for effective SOW creation, review, and approval processes.
  • Proactively identify issues and emerging risks with vendors and determine approach for resolution.
  • Proactively assess EDJ needs against vendor delivery and make recommendations for strategic direction with vendors.
  • Develop, improve, and implement vendor performance metrics. Leverage these metrics to facilitate performance conversations and drive improvement for our teams.
  • Use various communication strategies to effectively communicate messages and process to diverse audiences including our Digital, Data, and Operations teams.
  • Assist Leadership to effectively advance change efforts; Leads and mentors other team members, offers support to navigate through the change and seeks others' ideas for implementing change.
  • Leverage understanding of the firm's strategy to identify internal/external factors that may impact team objectives. Contributes to the team's strategy and driving the roadmap.

What Experience You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6
    years of experience in sourcing , purchasing, and/or vendor management including :
    • Experience with major global vendors.
    • Experience with either Purchasing or Managing SOW labor contracts (Both are preferred)y.
    • Strong understanding of negotiating and managing large scale SOWs.
    • Experience with demand planning (technology labor).

What Could Set You Apart:
  • Knowledge of vendor performance/risk management.
  • Solid understanding around the management of contingent labor vendors.
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting / P&L.
  • Experience working with data and analytics.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, changing environment.

This role has up to 10% travel, with potential to travel internationally
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with a preference for Tuesday through Thursday.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:
Salary: $96471 - $164262
Category: HeadquartersEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
