Summary:
The Library Assistant I is dedicated to public service in assisting patrons with all their library needs.
This position requires excellent customer service skills to conduct library operations at the circulation desk, assist library users with their information needs, perform basic computer assistance, and assist with various clerical duties as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS and PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES High school diploma or equivalent required Must possess a commitment to a high level of public service Must possess excellent communication skills PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Delivers high-quality customer service to library users in order to provide appropriate assistance or information Performs circulation duties in an efficient and accurate manner to ensure high-quality patron services Fields basic readers' advisory and reference questions.
Assists library users with public computers and library technology equipment, as well as basic maintenance of such equipment Performs clerical duties and technical services effectively and efficiently as assigned.
Organizes and participates in special projects and programs to enhance services to the community Operates as a team player and supports colleagues to ensure excellent library service.
Performs other tasks as assigned Processes new items for circulation Works effectively with Google Workspace applications to manage and share information Shelves or retrieves library materials in an accurate and timely manner Assists with monthly projects such as displays, new materials lists, e-Newsletter Submits reports or statistics on the use of various Library services PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds Ability to bend and stoop to shelve materials on high and low shelves Ability to push a full cart of books or other library materials Ability to collect money and make correct change Ability to use Windows operating system, Google Workspace suite, basic Internet searching, and basic office software applications and ability to extend such knowledge as technologies require Ability to operate a PC, library catalog on computer, copy machine, fax machine, and other basic library equipment and software COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE:
Pay range:
$15.
00 - $18.
40 hourly depending on education and experience Benefits include:
Vacation leave accrual; Sick leave accrual after 3 months, individual membership at the the Heights recreation complex; Employee Assistance Program.
This position works approximately 20 hrs.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
