Job Description:
o Seeking a Senior Project Engineer for the Flight Simulation Labs - Hardware Interface Systems team, located in Berkeley, MO.
o The Flight Simulation Labs organization has expertise supporting marketing, design, development, integration, test and training objectives for Boeing military aircraft.
o As a project engineer, you will provide technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of simulation environments for T-7 and F-15 programs.
o The Project Engineer will lead the project execution for the full product design life cycle including, but not limited to, proposal development, estimates, scheduling, requirements, design, acceptance test procedures and associated engineering maintenance support.
Position
Responsibilities:
o Works with various customers and teams to lead project execution in the design, procurement, building, integration, and testing of Flight Simulators, Trainers, Manned Flight Hardware Simulators, Avionic Test Benches and Facility Infrastructureo Works in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, engaging with multiple teams and being responsive to agile requirements and critical path customer need dateso Directs proposal development and leads project execution by identifying activities, resources and events required to complete the work statemento Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team planso Delegates responsibility for activities to team members and ensures technical correctness and consistency of products and serviceso Produces estimates in support of EVM (earned value management) acting as a CAM(control account management)o Assess project performance by holding actual results accountable to baseline plan, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learnedo Identifies performance metricso Engages in direct and frequent interaction with internal Boeing program personnel and occasionally external Navy and USAF personnel (program management, technical teams, and fabrication technicians)o Drives process improvements and support problem resolutionBasic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
o Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryo Experience in managing complex project schedules and managing large scale program and projecto Experience leading a team or a projecto Experience in building relationships with internal and/or external customerso Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
o 5 years of experience with CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management)o 3 years of experience in the mission systems fieldo Experience in mechanical design and analysiso Experience with U.
S.
Navy and Air Force customerso 3 years of experience in an avionics, electrical, and/or a mission systems roleo 3 years of experience in electronics and designo Experience in Agile Methodologies and toolso Participated in every phase of a product lifecycle (e.
g.
requirements definition, systems design, systems development, systems integration, systems test and systems support)Education /
Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.
g.
Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.
g.
PhD 4 years' related work experience, Master 7 years' related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
