Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUSCARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplaceThe SrSoftware Engineer is a Python developer position building the next-generation image processing software using AI/ML for a government customerSupport the existing Python software and development of new Python services for a highly distributed architecture that supports microservices that process remote sensing geospatial dataIn addition, supports existing applications and contributes to new designs that support emerging requirementsResponsibilitieso Work closely with geospatial users, supporting their mission using image-processing algorithms.
o Collaborate with other developers and teams to establish an enterprise system utilizing COTS, FOSS, and GOTS software.
o Development and support of a test-driven CI/CD pipeline is also required for supported applications.
o Recommend the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines, and other resource constraints.
o Work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
o Ensure the team adheres to Agile processes and best practices.
o Resolve roadblocks for the development team, working collaboratively with the Product Owner, technical leadership, and other engineers.
o Plan and estimate development tasks and work to improve performance metrics.
o Design, build, and test software upgrades and modifications.
o Develop information systems by studying operations.
o Design, develop, and install software solutions.
o Support and develop with other members of the software team.
o Research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
o Plan system and development deployment and meet software compliance standards.
o Support the following programming languages and systems:
C++, JAVA, Solaris, and SQLo Evaluate the interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and overall system characteristics.
o Document testing and maintenance of system corrections.
o Support, execute, and validate applications transition, and perform support capabilities.
o Implement COTS and other third-party, product updates.
o Other duties as assignedQualificationso Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 8
years relevant experience ORo Associate degree and 10
years relevant experience ORo High school diploma or GED equivalent and 12
years of relevant experienceo 5
years of Software Development experienceo Cloud certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer or similar.
o Software engineering and development skills in multiple SW languages used in the program.
o Experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, and CI/CD developmento Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the use of debuggerso TS/SCI clearance required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitieso Experience with geospatial web solutions.
o Experience with Docker/RKS/Rancher.
o Experience with Java Frameworks (Spring, Hibernate) and RESTful web services.
o Experience with JavaScript Frameworks and tools.
o Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices.
o Experience with building front-end or back-end Java applications and Pythono Cloud certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer or similar.
o Demonstrated technical skills in data management and working knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).
o Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices.
o Experience with a version control system (e.

o Working experience with JavaScript Frameworks such as Angular and ReactJS.
