The International Compliance & Student Services Officer position serves as a coordinator of the international student service help desk in St Louis.
The officer shall be responsible for managing and solving the issues brought forwards by walk-in international students, answer queries by email or phone from new international students.
Together with a team of student workers, who will be managed by the officer, this position will enhance the overall visitor experience of our new and returning international students, who come to our international student service helpdesk.
This position will report to the Asst.
Director of International Student Services and work under guidance from the Director of Visitor Experience and Event Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Managing the International Student Help Desk- 80% Manages the International Office Store Front Manages a with a team of student workers.
Resolve matters arising about specific admission and student compliance related issues.
Direct students to specific officers of IRIS for specialized services such as terminated status, etc.
which need escalation to a DSO and a PDSO Respond to student inquiries and questions by phone, email, social media as needed.
Provide counsel on all issues of importance and concern to international students and ensures students feel welcome, are included in the community, and can navigate the institution's systems successfully.
Updates and records information in SLATE and other university systems.
Admissions and Other duties and Assignments - 10% Provide support to international admissions processing as required, including acting as a DSO for initial I20 processing Programming duties and Assignments - 10% Help with student services for current international students as required.
Help with student events such as orientation, new student arrival events, etc.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Maintains compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and best practices Other duties as assigned Location:
Webster Groves Campus-WEBG Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Any Field Must be a US Citizen and/or Green Card Holder Preferred Qualifications Experience in managing student workers at a university.
