Job Description:
Seeking an Experienced, Test & Evaluation Flight Simulation Lab Technician to join the Flight Simulation Labs located in Berkeley, MO.
This position is part of the Flight Simulation Labs Operations team and the applicant will be working in a fast pace environment supporting Flight Simulation hardware requiring technical skills in both electronic hardware development and trouble shooting.
In this role you will be supporting repairs and modifications to manufactured Lab equipment and Simulators.
Primary
Responsibilities:
o Installing and maintaining Flight Simulation equipment consisting of computers, monitors, audio systems, visual systems, crew stations and rack equipment o Troubleshoot and resolve electronic hardware issues with minimum down time o Fabricates, Builds and assist in Designs of test system and components.
o Troubleshoots and resolves electronic and video related problems o Coordinates test laboratory activities and maintenance and repairs o Coaches and trains others Works under general direction Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
o 5
years' experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematics o 5
years' experience with electronic hardware testing and/or troubleshooting o 5
years' experience with visual imagery and display systems Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
o Experience in Method of analog to digital and digital to analog Video Conversion o Knowledge of Digital and analog video distribution o 5
years' experience performing soldering and electronics repair to the component level o Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment o 5
years' experience working with electronics and/or mechanical systems in design fabrication and test o Experience Cleaning, Terminating, and splicing military grade fiber optics o 5
years' experience crimping and terminating Mil Spec connectors o 3 years of experience working with Avionic/Flight Simulation equipment o 3
years' experience in the field of simulation, electronics, or avionics, particularly aircrew (flight) simulators.
o J-STD-001 solder certification o Knowledge of Oscope Operations o 3
years' experience working in an Engineering Lab environment and/or comparable Military experience o Experience with installation / maintenance of Video Display Walls or Mulit-Display systems o Ability to disassemble/modify monitors & projectors Recommended Skills Avionic Crimping Distribution Amplifier Maintenance Manufacturing Mechanical Systems Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
