We are looking for a full-time Case Mix Consultant to take a leadership role in long-term care facilities in Missouri and Illinois.
The ideal candidate will be located in the St Louis, MO area.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A REGIONAL CASE MIX CONSULTANTAs a Regional Case Mix Consultant you will travel daily to facilities in Missouri and Illinois.
You arrive each day happy to assist the facilities in verifying correct and compliant utilization of Medicare and Medicaid.
You love the collaborative spirit of the region where you will work under the direction of the Director of Case Mix Management to support facilities in the region.
You will travel to locations within the region offering support by educating facility staff on Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations, and conducting routine audits to see that Federal and State rules and regulations as well as established policies and procedures are followed.
You are willing to stay at one of the satellite locations as long as it takes to get the job done.
You will bring specialized knowledge of the MDS process and of developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents to help effectively plan and deliver the best individualized care for each of the patients whether challenged with orthopedic issues, neurological diseases, or complex medical conditions.
You will work with facility based MDS Coordinators as they complete patient assessments and complete MDS assessments.
You will also bring your knowledge of MDS coding as defined in the RAI manual.
You will bring your good communication skills to educate other MDS Coordinators on selecting the correct codes and completing MDS assessments for payment.
Your attention to detail is essential to your success, as you keep up-to-date and accurate records, develop action plans and manage your own schedule.
And, your collaborative skills come into play as you play an active role as a part of the regional clinical operations team.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A RESTORATIVE NURSE Maintains a current, valid license as an LPN or RN, BSN preferred, and is in good standing.
Possesses strong knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care.
Previous MDS 3.
0 experience required.
Consulting experience preferred.
Additional education or experience in rehabilitative and geriatric nursing is preferred.
Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (i.
e.
, physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) as it applies to clinical reimbursement.
Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare PDPM and Medicaid RUG grouper categories and documentation guidelines.
Demonstrates knowledge of analyzing and tracking the Case-Mix Roster for IL report and making recommendations accordingly.
Ability to travel 75-100% of the time and stay overnight at satellite locations as necessary.
Reside within the coverage area of St Louis, MO.
