Aviation Financial Controller

Job DescriptionOur client's capabilities include welding, machining parts, special paint processes, electrical wire harnesses, final assembly, and integration for missile programs and manufacturing, repair & calibration of electro-optical payloads, avionics, and other electronics.
The company offers build-to-print production services and non-destructive testing for aerostructures and composites from the component level to fully integrated assemblies and structures.
They are currently recruiting for a Controller job in Columbus, MS.

You will be a part of the finance leadership team.
You will also work closely and collaboratively with internal and external customers.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities of The ControllerPrimary leader for our financial, cost, and project accounting.
Ensures compliance with industry and company financial standards and practices.
Maintains cost accounting for all programs, products, and services.
Prepares for and coordinates both external and internal financial audits.
Coordinating and preparing external and internal financial statements.
Oversees the budget, monitors progress, and presents operational and financial metrics.
Works closely with other departments, customers, and suppliers to manage and resolve financial issues.
Works collaboratively with management staff to develop, initiate, and monitor strategic initiatives throughout the organization.
Required Skills/AbilitiesAbility to understand complex issues from other disciplines and discern how they could impact financial performance.
Use sound judgment and strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication skillsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting.
CPA and Masters degree preferred.
Demonstrated work experience within a similar financial role in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace and defense.
Demonstrated supervisory and management experience.
Detailed knowledge of GAAP and knowledge of IFRS standards.
Knowledgeable of government contracts, including FAR, DFAR, and CAS.
Working knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred.
