We are actively seeking an experienced Controller who will be a key member of a talented and committed finance team.
The Controller will report directly to the CFO and be responsible for the direct supervision of all accounting and financial functions.
This role will lead the development and execution of financial and accounting processes and controls devised to serve our clients, mitigate risk, strengthen the accuracy and timeliness of reported financial results, and provide guidance to the leadership team enabling the achievement of strategic company goals.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for leadership and overall supervision of accounting and finance functions and establishment and implementation of short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Responsible for establishing, monitoring and enforcing financial policies, procedures and controls throughout all functions of the organization.
Participates in budget process by providing and consolidating financial data, and recommending plans to support business goals.
Responsible for the integrity of all financial records, accurate and timely period close, and consolidation of company financial results.
Provides development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
Works with other departments in the furnishing of internal and external reports, revision and updates to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.
Works with IT and other functional leaders to continually improve business systems and operational efficiency.
Responsible for all treasury functions including commercial banking relationships, cash management and collections.
Leads the Company's annual financial audit and maintains relationships with the independent audit firm.
Ensures the Company's timely reporting and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
Ensures proper insurance coverages are maintained to minimize risk.
Prepares and participates in monthly financial and business unit reviews.
Manages financial staff by recruiting, selecting, training and coaching employees.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years' accounting experience in a senior accounting role with at least 5 years' experience as a Controller for a mid-sized company.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
CPA or Master's Degree/MBA preferred.
Working knowledge of Great Plains preferred.
Deep understanding of US GAAP required.
Experience in a private-equity backed business is strongly preferred.
Experience with M&A and accounting for business combinations.
Strong management and leadership skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Ability to work closely with the executive team.
